Google And Intel

One of the most important topics in technology in the recent period relates to the new announced partnership between Google and Intel. This partnership envisages, in principle, manufacturing smartphones and tablets that are equipped with Intel processors and offering a great deal of competition to Apple and any other competitor. The announcement was made by both companies on their respective official forums some days ago and this means that this new technology alliance will most surely become a worthy opponent on the market.

Through this partnership, Google has committed the company’s efforts in developing a support kernel for Intel's processors on the Android platform. As such, Google officially announced that all versions of Android ( current and future ) will have support for x86 chipsets I the near future ( for those that are already on use ).

This expands the influence area of Android based operating systems making it run on any smartphone or tablet thus generating even more competition and pressure on Microsoft’s Windows 8 Universal platform. Also by this partnership, Intel is officially entering the launch pad in portable devices market segment. Following this partnership Android operating system will become even more popular and stronger efforts in developing software for it will be underway. Given the above circumstances, we may conclude that Android currently does not support Intel but this, however, completely wrong. Android operating systems could run on devices equipped with Intel processors. However, this strategic partnership has a deeper meaning in terms of simplifying the launch of the smartphones that run on Android operating systems and equipped with Intel processors.

Therefore, from this partnership both parties come out as winners but this statement is valid because for Google it means that Google Android can run on any portable device and for Intel this is the official launch on the smartphone market but this is however, the first official step in this course of events.

As I mentioned previously, this partnership is one of the most important discussion subject in the smartphone technology area and so another thing is made clear. The fact hat many already await the new tablets and smartphones with Android operating systems and Intel processing power. If you're among them you don’t have too much time to wait until these devices will hit the market as both companies announced that such devices will be available to the large consumer market on the first half of 2012 and this means a big war in this segment.
