I’ve delayed this review due to lack of time and especially concentration. Now let’s get to work and write the impressions left by a phone with a Facebook button. I had the white HTC ChaCha version to play with from a colleague at work, but you can find the black version if you want extra elegance. I see it as a smartphone for teens and youth in general. Especially for those who post intensively on Facebook, Twitter and write messages. Has the best vertical qwerty keyboard found by me until now on a mobile phone. It is even more precise than that of the Nokia E 72 – a business smartphone that made the law 2-3 years ago. The qwerty keyboard has buttons clearly individualized and there is no risk or inadvertently pressing a different number or letter than that you want.
In terms of design it seems as light as a Japanese bonsai only that it’s wider, but fits well in the hand. It is slightly bent with a curve in half and the materials that were chosen are of high quality. The colors available are silver and white and reminded me of the older HTC Flyer model. The battery cover can be opened quite easily and at the top of it there is the 3.5 mm jack, the on / off button also used to lock or unlock the display quickly. On the left side there are the volume control buttons and a micro USB port. There is no button to rapid deployment of the camera, but I think that is not a great loss. The speaker is located on the back near the 5 megapixel quality camera and the LED flash. The sound quality offered is rather quality as they chose not to put in a loud speaker, very strong but one that is able to play quality sounds and has a bit of bass. After the battery cover is removed you get access to the SIM slot and the micro SD card.
The screen is a 2.6 inch TFT screen has 480 x 320 pixel resolution and 256 k colors. It seems the manufacturer did well and the screen is enjoying a good contrast that helps visualize information under sunlight. At the base there are four capacitive type keys with functions like search, back, customizing the display, navigation between the four home customizable pages.
The tested headphones are a standard 3.5 mm jack and I have tested some mp 3 players that didn’t sound this great. I guess that took into account that set the targeted audience – those under 25 years that love their music without carrying around all sort of extra devices for that.
