Windows Phone After A Year

Even if Microsoft had launched the first smartphone to use Windows Phone more that over a year back the drawback that I see now is the lack of a Windows Phone flag to attract users. I wanted to write an article with detailed comparisons between the iOS 5 ( on the iPhone 4S), Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich ( on which Galaxy Nexus runs on ) and Windows Phone 7.5 Mango ( on which HTC Titan runs ) where I could make some clear statements showing ups and downs of each operating system.

Once I will receive the equipment required to make myself comprehensible I will be able to do exactly that. The second thing I wanted to discuss is related to the hardware platforms running on Windows Phone. The traditional partner that Microsoft had for Windows Mobile ( ie HTC) came later to the launch of Windows Phone. The market device brought head on by LG and Samsung and their performances were not the best available – on the contrary; those tested by me (ie Mozart and HD 7) were below Optimus 7 from LG and Samsung Omnia 7 both in performance and features. In February, the MWC bomb occurred: Microsoft's secret weapon called Nokia that was to run on the Windows Phone operating system. The man who worked at Microsoft in the development of Windows Phone, Elop, left the company in the autumn of 2010 ( could that be a simple coincidence ?). Nokia announced that it will focus its full attention towards using Windows Phone as the primary operating system for their devices. And the work for achieving exactly that has already scored some points as they have already launched a smartphone using Windows Phone.

The announcement was not necessarily a shock to those who were acquainted to market mobile devices: everyone knew that if Nokia did not change something in its strategy, the manufacturer was to disappear. They did it and now we already expect the first series models. In order to correctly evaluate the outcome we need such devices available on the market and for extensive testing and feedback from users all around the world. Since last fall no new smartphone was launched that used Windows Phone. I have however, used the HTC Titan and have been able to test it ( and I thought about writing a review) and so far I think that it is the best device running on Windows Phone !
